Set up a course on D365 HR

Actualizado: 24 ene 2022

Hey! Sharing a quick article on creating a course on Dynamics 365 Human Resources.

First, you will need to create your course types and then create the courses. Keep reading the guide to understanding how courses work. At the end of this article, you will find an intro video to the Learning module that I highly recommend watching.

Create course types

Log into D365 HR Dashboard > Learning

A new tab will open and a Power BI will start to load, as we don´t want the BI yet, you select Links. Under the tile of Setup, select Course types

A new tab will open, with all the existing courses types in your company, see the image below. Of course, this tab will be empty if it's your first time setting up course types.

Select +New and complete the fields as shown below

Notice that there are plenty of tabs to complete and you can be as descriptive as you want. In my case, I only completed General and Course objectives, but you can also add skills, course description, and so on.

Create Course

Log into D365 HR Dashboard > Learning > Links. Under the tile of Courses, select Courses

A new tab will open with all the existing courses in your company. Once again, bear in mind that the list will be empty if there are no courses created in your company.

Select + New and start adding the information. You will find 8 tabs to complete

Once you complete all the information, select Save. Press ESC and find the new course available for enrollment in the Course tab.

Add participants

If the course is open for self-enrollment employees will be able to enroll from Employee self-service. If not, you can add the participants to the course as shown below:

Learning > Courses > Select the course you want to add participants > Course participants (in the top).

A new tab will open and you can add the participants from the dropdown, including registered date and cost center.
